Soon things will be blooming! These are the days we in northern climates look forward to after a long winter. But it also brings the  “seasonal discomfort” along with it. There are some natural options you can turn to first that are safe, effective and affordable.

Lemon, lavender and peppermint are some of the top go to’s for “seasonal discomfort”. Lemon has antiseptic properties and may help support respiratory function. Lavender has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Peppermint has anti-inflammatory and decongestant properties.

The top three ways we use this combination of oils in our house are:

  1. Diffuse them daily. Use 5-8 drops of each.

  2. Take them internally. Put 2-3 drops of each in a veggie capsule and take 1-2 capsules three to 4 times a day. You can also place 1 drop each under your tongue, wait 30 seconds and follow with water.

Another other great option is to take dōTERRA TriEase soft gels. These soft gels are pre-made capsules for convenience. Always start out by taking less oils. We find less, more often is the best route to go because your body needs time to absorb and utilize what you put in.

  1. Make a 10ml roller bottle of the blend with 5-10 drops each of the oils in a glass roller bottle top with fractionated coconut oil. Apply to temples, under your nose, on the bridge of your nose and on the bottoms of your feet morning and night or as needed.

When we are dealing with the clouds of pollen, DoTERRA’s Breathe is another great blend to use as well but note it can not be taken internally. Just use in your diffuser, make a roller bottle, or place a drop or two in your hand and breathe in deeply. We also place a drop on the bridge and under our nose to support our breathing before, during and after our time outside.

You should also support your gut health. By taking a good probiotic, such as PB Assist or PB Assist Junior 3 times a day on an empty stomach will do just that.

Hope this helps you out. These are all safe with kiddos just adjust  amounts. Less more often is better and BE CONSISTENT! Some give up when they don’t see immediate results but that is often because they are “trying” once in a while. You may find you can begin to back off in frequency if you are consistent.

These are just a few suggestions. If you find you need further support, I would be happy to help you just check out my contact information below.
